Fine for Deputy High Court Judge

A deputy High Court judge has been fined after being caught driving through a red light in Central London, reports the Telegraph.

Kuldip Singh QC defended himself in a process that reportedly took almost a year, and involved three lever arch folders full of documents, and four court hearings.

He pled guilty earlier this week and was fined £60 and given three points on his licence - the exact same penalty he would have received had he pled guilty at the start.

A district judge criticised Mr Singh for wasting court time and resources, and ordered him to pay the costs of the proceedings - amounting to £4,769.
