Police target motorcycle offenders

An operation to tackle motorcycle offences has proven to be a success for police in Aberdeen, reports the BBC.

Operation Trinity, which was run by Grampian police, lasted for seven weeks and resulted in the arrest of 55 individuals.

The incidents tackled by the police included the theft of five motorbikes, all of which were successfully located and returned to their owners. Twenty offenders had their motorbikes seized, either because they were in breach of anti-social behaviour legislation, or because they did not have valid insurance.

A police spokesman commented that the operation had been welcomed by the local communities.
